So without question, you would not be reading this post if you didn’t believe that protecting your skin from the harmful rays of the sun is important. Additionally, the phact that you are probably looking to find info about Shea Nut Sunscreen leads me to believe that:

  • You’re looking to see what the benefits are of using shea butter as a sunscreen for your skin (from moisturising to sun protection and even after-sun healing)
  • You’re into natural alternatives that are going to be friendly to your wallet and skin in the long-run
  • You’d like a product that has a high aspect of social responsibility into it.

Having said that, here are the core values of shea nut butter that I’d like to share with you because I found them to be quite important (and you may too~):

  • The healing fraction of shea nut butter is substantially higher than most other oils so it is great for after sun skincare
  • The shea butter is exactly as it implies, it is a creamy colored soild that readily melts into the hands and is quickly absorbed into the skin. You can even cut it with a butter knife!
  • Shea butter has a natural SPF rating of approximately 6 so it is great for day to day use when you experience light exposure to the sun

So the tickboxes are mostly satisfied because it provides protection from the sun and even acts to heal the skin after exposure to rays. However, one thing shea butter lacks as an effective sunscreening product is the ability to moisturise as effectively as the other natural oils available. Thats where its best friend hemp seed oil comes in. Hemp seed oil is a great carrier oil which absorbs quickly into the skin and assists in retaining moisture. This effect combined with those listed of shea butter above makes for an awesome product. Funny, I personally tried it myself and saw results in a couple of days…smooth and cooling!~
